This is my bike, and yes I know it’s a girl’s bike. I had to buy a girl’s bike because my feet don’t touch the ground on bigger bikes. And besides, it has a plaid seat and I like it, so there.
When I was riding it at Bay Area Park, this kid yelled, “That’s a girl’s bike!” I gave him a friendly smile and a nod, but I was thinking, “Of course it’s a girl’s bike ya little arshead. It’s got a basket. Sheesh, his parents must be very proud.”
This past weekend, I rode on a path near Fairmont and also rode around Bay Area Park. Man, the slightest incline about kills me. I must stop sometimes to breathe.
Bay Area is a great place to go. It has a smooth road, loads of shade, a nice breeze, it’s clean and when I’m through riding, I sit at a pic-a-nic table and bring nature into my heart, listen to my music and watch stupid people. Well, they’re not all stupid…..but most of ‘em are.
I like my bike because it’s fun to ride, it gets me outside away from the TV and it will eventually strengthen my aching legs and knees. I’m not on a diet, but I am exercising with my bike, with the plaid seat and the basket.
I leave you with one of my favorite Scottish sayings: “Kilt: It’s what happened to the last person who called it a skirt.” –unknown-
